So, dinner.
We’re all sitting around eating, my mom and one girl are talking about another lady at work who asked to move her schedule around because she has weekly appointments with her son. Talk talk talk… Then someone asks ‘what kind of appointments are they?’ And my moms friend says, in a very, VERY rude tone, ‘oh psych analysis appointments. Her son is schizophrenic.’ Then one goes on to talk about how her dad was schizophrenic, and how he was insane because he her things that weren’t there (WHICH I DO), see things, was always paranoid, and how hard of a life, and unfair, it was to have a dad like that.
Ok, I get it. Yes, its hard having a family member with a mental illness. BUT THEY CONTINUE TO GO ON basically trashing people with mental illness, saying how fucked up we are because we ‘make up things’ and ‘don’t fit well into society’.. YEAH SOMEONE ACTUALLY SAID THAT.
THE WHOLE TIME MY MOTHER, WHO JUST CHECKED ME OUT OF THE PSYCH WARD NOT EVEN A WEEK AGO, SITS THERE AND AGREES WITH THEM AND DOESN’T TRY TO STAND UP FOR THEM AT ALL. OR STAND UP FOR ME. I’m just sitting there with my head down trying not to freak out. She doesn’t once try to defend me or anyone else, even though my dad had some issues himself.I’m livid. I’m ashamed. I’m.. I can’t even think of a word to describe how I feel.
And she wonders why I continue, after three years, to hide my problems and not tell her anything about what’s going on in my life. THIS is exactly why.
Totally cool with this.
Apparently my brothers class (gr 12) watched “The Roommate” at school the other day (gotta love supply teachers in the catholic school system), and my brother told all of his friends that I had the same mental illness as the girl in the movie, and I was a psycho.
Now they’re all too afraid to come over anymore. I’m totally okay with this. They were so annoying anyways!

But so ya’ll know, I’m not a psycho like Rebecca… Just in case you thought that, for some hysterical reason.
Anonymous asked: can you recommend me some good movies similar to girl, interrupted.. virgin suicides.. movies with psychology stuff going on? :)
Yeah for sure! A few of my favorites are Donny Darko (he’s schizophrenic), Black Swan (schizophrenia and OCD), Prozac Nation (depression), Thirteen (basic teen rebellion but it’s really good), It’s Kind of A Funny Story (depression and other patients with different illnesses), and The Uninvited (a little more well hidden, but it has depression, suicide and hallucinations). These are just a few I have off the top of my head but I’m pretty sure you can google “movies with mental illness.” I hope this helps!
I did this two nights ago, but by author last name. I have a feeling tonight it’ll be my closet.
I think the best part of my meds is that it either causes excessive sleep, or very little sleep. Obviously the little sleep sucks, but the excessive sleep is amazing. I’ve slept over 11 hours each night the last 4 nights (except Matt’s party… ASHLEY), and last night I slept on the floor of a concrete basement apartment.
love/hate relationship.
Just finished watching “The Bridge”
A documentary about the Golden Gate Bridge, and how many people commit suicide there each year. Interviews with jumpers who survived, actual footage of people jumping, and how many people watch them climb over, and keep walking, interviews with the family, and the few people who are miraculously talked out of it and live.
